CRESYM commitments – Cookie policy
What is a cookie?
In the framework of the Site and the related ToRs, the term “cookies” refers to cookies and other similar technologies covered by the EU Directive on privacy in electronic communications, namely a small piece of data that a web site asks the browser to store on the computer or mobile device. The cookie allows the web site to “remember” the User’s actions or preferences over time.
Most Internet browsers support cookies; however, users can set their browsers to decline certain types of cookies or specific cookies. Further, users can delete cookies at any time.
Why do CRESYM use cookies?
CRESYM uses cookies to learn how any visitor of the cresym.eu domain (the User) interact with the Site’s content and to improve the User’s experience when visiting the Site.
CRESYM doesn’t track geolocations nor use cookies to differentiate contents served to users or relay targeted advertisements.
What types of cookies does CRESYM use?
First-party cookies are cookies issued from the cresym.eu domain that are used to render basic Site functionality, and especially remembers the User’s details once connected so that she does not have to repeatedly type them in when registering to events.
Third-party cookies belong to and are managed by other parties, such as service providers. These cookies may be required to render certain forms, such as the submission of a job application.
Session cookies are temporary cookies that are used to remember the User during the course of her visit to the Site, and they expire when she closes the web browser.
Persistent cookies are used to remember the User’s preferences within the Site and remain on the User’s desktop or mobile device even after the browser is closed or the computer is restarted.
How are third party cookies used?
The Site may involve third party suppliers, e.g. to display embedded videos from, or links to, YouTube. These videos or links (and any other content from third party suppliers) may contain third party cookies, and CRESYM encourages the User to consult the privacy policies of these third party vendors on their web sites for information regarding their use of cookies.
How can a User reject and delete cookies?
The User can choose to reject or block all or specific types of cookies by clicking on cookie preferences panel popping up when accessing the Site. The User can change her preferences for the Site and/or the web sites of any third-party suppliers by changing her browser settings.
Most browsers automatically accept cookies. Therefore, if the User do not wish cookies to be used, she may need to actively delete or block the cookies. If the User rejects the use of cookies, she will still be able to visit the Site but some of the functions may not work correctly. The User may also visit www.allaboutcookies.org for details on how to delete or reject cookies and for further information on cookies generally.
By using the Site without deleting or rejecting some or all cookies, the User agrees that CRESYM can place those cookies that she has not deleted or rejected on her device.
